Technical Business Analyst (4-month fixed term role)

About the role
Our Business Technology Group provides and manages Porirua City Council’s technology environment, IT infrastructure and information management. This includes managing PCs, laptops, telephony, software and applications, networks, record keeping, official information and security.
You will be responsible for:
- provide comprehensive support to the Policy, Planning & Regulatory Services (PPRS) team in collecting information, mapping information flows and defining functional requirements for system enhancements and improvements.
- collaborate with managers to document information flows, business requirements and recommend information storage locations and output types.
- collaborating with managers to ensure that information is appropriately presented and shared to both internal and external stakeholders through various systems.
- drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance PPRS’s effective use of information, business systems and processes.
Note that this is a fixed term role, until 31 July 2026.
All about you
It would be fabulous if you have experience working in local or central government, or experience in information management process and system improvements.
You’ll need to show us that you have:
- Solid experience in a Technical Business Analyst role
- Strong analytical skills, from understanding business needs to translating them into application and operational requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of technology concepts and how systems can be used to address process improvements and information outputs.
- An ability to put the customers’ needs at the heart of all you do.
