About the role

In this busy and diverse role, your leadership skills and passion for having great spaces for our community will be a real asset.

You will:

  • Led and  inspire a team to provide exceptional maintenance and community service
  • Design and manage maintenance schedules of playgrounds and outdoor furniture
  • Ensure rapid response repairs and graffiiti removal are carried out promptly
  • Work alongside, collaborate and site supervise any operational work with community groups, volunteers, school groups and Resident Associations
  • Champion Health and Safety ensuring it remains top priority  all team members
  • Ensure all work carried out is digitally logged and documented accurately, and carried out in compliance with policies and legislation.

About you

You’ll need to be a hardworking, motivated leader and passionate about Porirua City. This is a busy role, and will keep you on your toes.  

You’ll need to show us that you:

  • Can supervise staff to ensure programmed maintenance schedules are delivered on time
  • Are customer focussed, and will deliver exceptional customer service to our residents and visitors
  • Have trade or handyman skills,  experience in fabrication, building and workshop maintenance
  • Are computer literate using computers and mobile tech for tasks and reporting
  • Hold an unrestricted class 1 drivers license
  • Are able to meet the physical demands of the role
  • Have a good understanding and commitment to health and safety in the workplace,
