All about the job

We need a reliable and dedicated person to assist with keeping our outdoor assets around the city well maintained.

As our Maintenance Serviceperson, you’ll be a specialist member of the team responsible for: 

  • Assisting with the delivery of a diverse work programme which includes the maintenance of parks and playgrounds, playground equipment, furniture, and other Council assets.
  • Ensuring that routine maintenance, cleaning, graffiti removal is done within timeframes to maintain Council assets to a high standard.
  • Supporting other teams within City Services to help beautify Porirua City.  

All about you

Ideally you will have previous basic carpentry experience and are keen to develop these skills further. In addition:

  • Previous basic carpentry experience.
  • A current drivers licence.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
  • Have an understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Enjoy working in a supportive team.
  • Can demonstrate using your initiative and think outside the box.
