Senior Advisor – Porirua Harbour and Catchment / Kaitohutohu – Te Awarua-o-Porirua

This role will be popular amongst those who are passionate about the health of our Harbour. With one of our strategic priorities being ‘A healthy and protected harbour and catchment – Te Awarua-o-Porirua’ you will understand why this is an important role within Porirua City Council.
You will work within our City Partnerships team and be responsible for:
Providing overall project leadership and coordination for the Harbour Strategy and strategic projects related to Te Awarua-o-Porirua Harbour and Catchment
Championing a collaborative approach across Ngati Toa Rangatira, Councils and harbour strategy partners to achieve integrated and sustainable land and water management within the Porirua Harbour catchment area
Working closely with Greater Wellington Regional Council and other key stakeholders to monitor the health of the harbour and implement evaluation strategies
lead the leveraging of funding allocated to the Porirua Harbour Strategy activities and projects to generate other complementary and alternative funding from other agencies for programme and project works
To lead and co-ordinate the distribution and presentation of information to partners, stakeholders, interest groups and local community groups relating to the Porirua Harbour Strategy and programmes

We are seeking an engaging relationship builder with significant experience working with multiple stakeholders. You’ll need to show us that you:
A broad understanding of land/water interactions and connectedness of environments
The ability to influence and persuade at a political and local government level, as well as with colleagues and peers
Demonstrated skills in building strong effective partnerships and relationships within and across teams and organisations
have experience working as the interface between elected members, the community and other stakeholders
