We have an exciting new role that will enable you to develop and maintain connections between Porirua City Council and Pacific communities. This role is for 20 hours per week and we are happy to work with the preferred candidate on how those hours are made up.

You will work within our City Partnerships team and be responsible for:

  •  Leading and supporting talonoa with Pacific communities
  • Championing community partnerships with Pacific communities, delivering advice and expertise to cross Council teams

  • Assisting on projects and initiatives within the City Partnerships team and across Council

  • Conducting research in the community for relevant projects

All about you

We are seeking an engaging relationship builder with significant experience working with Pacific communities. You’ll need to show us that you:

  • have proven experience in the delivery of programmes to communities

  • are skilled at contributing to multi-stakeholder partnership programmes 

  • have experience working as the interface between elected members, the community and other stakeholders

  • have ability to operate in a range of Pacific cultural settings

  • have engaging relationship skills with the ability to establish rapport with stakeholders, ensuring all working relationships are positive and meaningful
