Council is wanting to grow and strengthen our relationships between Ngāti Toa Rangatira and other Māori organisations.

We have this exciting new role that will support us to build strong relationships and strengthen the capability to achieve our strategic and city priorities. You will work within our City Partnerships team and be responsible for:

Leading and supporting engagement and consultation processes with Ngāti Toa Rangatira and other Māori organisations

  • Supporting specific work programmes across the wider Council

  • Facilitating and supporting relationships between Council staff and Ngāti Toa Rangatira and other Māori organisations.

All about you

We are seeking an engaging relationship builder with significant experience working with local Iwi and Maori communities and groups. You’ll need to show us that you:

  • have proven experience in the delivery of programmes to communities

  • are skilled at contributing to multi-stakeholder partnership programmes 

  • have experience working as the interface between elected members, the community and other stakeholders

  • have a competent level of Te Reo and a strong understanding and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and Tikanga Māori

  • have engaging relationship skills with the ability to establish rapport with stakeholders, ensuring all working relationships are positive and meaningful
