Senior Advisor - Annual reporting
We are on the lookout for a superstar who can use their project management expertise to guide, drive, and manage the development and consultation that goes into planning and producing our Annual Report, Annual Plan and associated reporting.
This role will require liaising with other teams at Council for their input into the reporting, as well as consultation with our communities on any changes. To do this you will need to have exceptional communication skills as you deal with a diverse range of audiences, and have the ability to engage and collaborate with colleagues and the community, to build strong working relationships and co-create solutions.
As a Council we have obligations to deliver corporate documents under legislation. With the many changes coming to local government, it is critical that Porirua City Council’s strategic direction is clear and incorporated into our annual reporting.
If you are detail orientated with experience in multi-stakeholder programme delivery, then this will be the ideal role for you.
What you'll do
As a key member of our Strategy & Policy Team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Project managing the development of statutory processes under the Local Government Act including the development of key plans, performance reporting and monitoring
- Ensuring plans reflect the strategic direction of Council and obligations under legislation
- Analysing internal and external risks that may impact delivery
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver meaningful insights and practical advice
- Consulting with the community over any annual reporting changes
- Monitoring and reporting against performance
- Project managing the audit associated with the Annual Report
About you
You will have:
- A collaborative style and the ability to influence across an organisation
- Exceptional project management skills and experience working in multi-stakeholder processes
- Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
- Experience in strategy and report writing
- Experience analysing and advising on legislation
- The ability to interpret and present data to support strategic decision-making
- Experience in local government is highly desirable, but not essential
