Finance Officer – Water Billing

About the role

This role focuses on the accurate and timely processing of water billing transactions while providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. This is a varied role where attention to detail, strong organisation skills and great customer service are key.

  • Prepare and process water invoices and billing schedules
  • Maintain accurate customer, ownership and records
  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve billing queries
  • Process refunds, adjustments, credits and transfers
  • Reconcile daily bank receipts and allocate payments correctly
  • Monitor outstanding debt and follow up accounts in line with processes
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Please note that this role is fixed term until December 2027. 

About you

You’ll need to show us that you bring:

  • Experience in accounts receivable, credit control or office administration
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and ability to solve problems
  • Experience with local government financial systems or water/rating legislation would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
